Role
Tomorrow University is seeking a Learning Designer (maternity leave cover) to design and enhance online learning experiences. You’ll work with internal faculty and external experts to co-create challenges (courses) and competency-based learning experiences that connect theory to practice. This is a remote, collaborative role in a supportive international team.
Your main tasks
* Partner with professors and subject matter experts to design and develop online challenges aligned with academic standards.
* Apply competency-based and backward design approaches to create clear learning paths.
* Coordinate multiple projects, balancing timelines, quality, and detail.
* Guide and support collaborators in applying instructional design approaches.
* Use learner data and feedback to refine course quality and outcomes.
* Contribute to design templates, shared resources, and QA processes for scalable learning development.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evolve learning design processes and tools.
* Stay curious about educational research and human-centered design.
* Collaborate with multimedia content creators to brief and review assets.
* Develop scripts and outlines for video-based learning materials.
What we are looking for
* Solid experience in learning design or online course development, preferably in higher education or EdTech.
* Familiarity with competency-based and backward design methodologies.
* Experience coordinating learning design projects with multiple contributors.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with academics and subject matter experts.
* Practical understanding of instructional design and digital pedagogy; able to apply approaches effectively.
* Ability to balance independent work with teamwork in a remote, international environment.
* Experience with learning management systems and authoring tools.
* Fluent in English (C2).
Bonus points
* Degree or certification in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
* Experience with Challenge-Based Learning (CBL).
* Experience in start-up or growth-stage environments.
* Familiarity with Tomorrow University’s focus areas (sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurship, AI, data, green tech).
