Primary Purpose of Role

The Head of Technology is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy to enable scalable growth across multiple countries. This includes supply chain operations. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Technology aligns technology investment with business priorities, fosters innovation, and builds the foundational capabilities required to support rapid international expansion. The role oversees the development, implementation, and management of programs that cultivate a strong security culture across our client’s Group companies, ensuring that technology operations remain reliable, resilient, and secure with effective incident and change management processes in place. It also provides leadership over cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance practices aligned with global standards, while implementing scalable support models and vendor partnerships across multiple geographies. In addition, the Head of Technology develops and leads a high-performing team, providing coaching and mentoring to drive continual performance improvement and operational excellence.


Team Member Minimum Requirements

Required Qualification Level: Bachelors (Honours)

Qualification Field: Engineering / Commerce / Analytics / Operations / Statistics/ Supply Chain & Inventory / Operations

Preferred Qualification Level: Masters

Years of Experience required: 5-7 Years

Level of role:

Management and supervisory professionals focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area. Levels within the management career stream typically have three or more direct reports. The majority of time is spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritising and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports.


Technical Skills Required

* Familiarity with modern technologies and transformation approaches (cloud technologies, automation, digital, etc.)
* Broader transformation experience in reorganisation and optimization of security organization
* Lead the delivery of technology programs across multiple markets, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets
* Oversee successful implementation of core systems, including ERP, POS, e-commerce, and integration platforms
* Establish agile delivery practices and high-performing cross-functional teams to drive speed and accountability
* Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple initiatives from conception through implementation, including setting deadlines and monitoring progress
* Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills and ability to identify, evaluate & report on IT risks in a regulatory compliant manner

Work Experience

8–10 years’ experience in large-scale complex, diverse Enterprise. At least 3 years must be in a senior leadership role leading and executing an organisational transformation.


Position Scope

Area of Accountability: Key Responsibilities & Deliverables: Performance Measures & Targets:

Technical:

* Define and implement a multi-year technology roadmap that supports business growth, international expansion, and operational efficiency.
* Establish a modern, modular, and secure architecture (cloud-first, API-driven, data-enabled) that enables rapid scaling and innovation.
* Drive digital transformation across B2B, B2C, and back-office functions.
* Plan, schedule, monitor and report on activities related to the program to ensure that all projects contribute to the overall achievement of the program.
* Guide strategic decision making and investment priorities.
* Ensure alignment with strategic architecture roadmaps and Business outcomes.
* Impact assessment, risk and issue management, funding, change management and Business readiness.
* Define metrics to measure the success of all initiatives.
* Assist technology team to identify, recommend and deliver improvements to strengthen internal controls or mitigate gaps that represent risk.
* Champion the remediation of identified risks and organise risk treatment activities.
* Develop and execute change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, communication strategies, and risk mitigation.
* Positive team feedback Procedures and tools implemented in full Performance meets requirements (performance appraisal)
* Reduction in repeatable problems


Role Delivery

* Lead the delivery of technology programs across multiple markets ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
* Oversee the successful implementation of core systems, including ERP, POS, e-commerce, and integration platforms.
* Establish agile delivery practices and high-performing cross-functional teams to drive speed and accountability.
* Develop and maintain strategic and influential relationships with key stakeholders including Group companies technology team such as Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, PMO, Enterprise Systems, Business facing domains, and more broadly with relevant external stakeholders, proactively managing these for organisational growth and sustainability.
* Foster low-cost, high-velocity mindset and culture to reduce costs; retire technical debt; and increase speed to deliver Innovation and Solutions to end customer.
* Prepare and manage the client technology budget allocated ensuring cost effectiveness and ROI.
* Build strong relationships with customers and the business based on trust and value creation. Listen, educate, proactively manage expectations, and provide options.
* Maintain an excellent awareness of tactics, environment and trends within client stores, Distribution Centres and National Office.
* Bring and embed a strong sense of drive and achievement based on clear targets and ownership of outcomes.
* Setting tailored team and individual KPI’s in alignment with Global Strategy, and actively inspiring team and providing growth opportunities.
* Positive team feedback and manager observations, performance appraisal.
* Leadership: Be a purpose and valued-led leader focusing on enhancing employee experience.
* Lead high-performing technology team and create continuous improvement, champion contemporary delivery practices for positive team environment and culture.
