* Remuneration: HEW Level 9 $159,739 to $170,588 p.a./ Includes 17% Superannuation & Leave


About the Opportunity

Western Sydney University is seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst to join the Finance Team. The Senior Treasury Analyst will be responsible for ensuring robust treasury operations and accounting across cash management, investments, debt, cash flows, interest rate risk, and foreign currency exposures. The Senior Treasury Analyst supports the University’s financial sustainability by delivering accurate analysis, timely reporting, and policy‑compliant treasury practices, while partnering with stakeholders across Finance and the broader University. This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist who enjoys variety, problem solving, and making a meaningful impact through prudent funding, investment, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Treasury Analyst will deliver high‑quality treasury services and trusted insights by:

* Preparing and reporting daily liquidity analysis, including investment and borrowing recommendations.
* Managing the preparation and analysis of forecast balance sheets, cash flows, investment income, and interest expenses within the University’s financial forecast framework and systems (TMS).
* Analysing and reporting on the actual and planned performance of the balance sheet and cash flow, with a focus on monitoring ratios and trends aligned with Credit Rating Agency requirements.
* Entering transactions and maintaining the University’s Treasury Management System (TMS).
* Managing treasury services for University entities, including cash, loan, and investment management to ensure liquidity and loan obligations are met.
* Providing treasury support for management accounts, annual reports, audits, and statutory requirements.
* Participating in strategic treasury projects and initiatives, and supporting the Director, Treasury and Chief Financial Officer as required.
* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with Banks, Investors, Credit Rating Agencies, Investment Managers and Financial Services advisers.


Who we're looking for

The Senior Treasury Analyst will bring technical expertise, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach. The ideal candidate will have:

* A postgraduate qualification in commerce, business or finance major and/or treasury management experience in a large, complex organisation.
* Demonstrated professional experience in all aspects of Treasury operations and planning, with a strong understanding of Treasury processes and relevant Australian Accounting Standards.
* Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and report‑writing skills.
* High‑level computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
* Excellent business acumen and interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong planning and organisational abilities.
* Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Remuneration Package

HEW Level 9 $159,739 to $170,588 p.a. (comprising Salary of $134,981 to $144,149 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
